Who We Are
Construction Enterprises Co. (CEC) is a Qatari-based Contracting Company established in 1972 by Sheikh Ali Bin Saud Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Thani specializing in civil works, buildings, infrastructure, and general engineering works having more than 50 years’ experience in the State of Qatar.
CEC has to its credit some of the record winning accomplishments in the construction engineering (i.e. continuous casting of the Raft foundation for Doha Bank with 1200m3 of concrete, being the first of its kind at that time in 1984, construction of the largest concrete Dome in the state (probably in the GCC and qualified for Guinness Book of Records) at Salah-Eddin Mosque Mesaieed, which was executed with pre-cast concrete form work, meticulously planned, erected and removed after casting the concrete dome which was a marvelous feat in the form work engineering.
Abu-Bakr Siddique mosque a blend of Arabic architectural features with marble finishing is acclaimed as a master piece construction, ranked one among the best of its kind.
During the course of this period, CEC has completed almost 500 major projects and all our Engineers are well experienced and specialized in executing the works with great care, dedication and empathy with the guidance & leadership entrusted in the able hands of our late Managing Director, Mr. Samir Assaad Sahyoun. We have also successfully executed projects for private entities and local Government agencies. Some of the important contracts executed by CEC are New Women's Hospital (HMC), Doha Bank main building, Doha Stock market Building, Sheraton Staff Accommodation, Qatar Sports Club, Schools, Abu Bakr Siddique Mosque, Parks, Jetties, Wharfs and marine construction, College of Technology, Qatar Arm Forces Projects at Al Saliyah & New Naval base project at Umm Al Houl, High profile Gym etc. Time-tested existence of being in the construction business for 51 long years itself will speak testimony for CEC.
CEC Pre-cast Concrete Factory set-up with French know-how in 1978, was instrumental in setting up many villa complexes for the Government of Qatar housing Department and private agencies, having built more than 1200 villas at different parts of Qatar including that of multi-storied Sheraton staff accommodation, Marriott staff accommodation, marine structures (Qatar Flour Mill Jetty & Al Wakra Jetty), various Boundary walls, Precast Boundary walls at Pearl Qatar for partitioning of Villas etc.
Presently we are doing the Floresta Garden 110 Tower at Pearl Qatar, 4 + 5 Villa Projects at Markiyah & Villa project at Al Daheen.

Labor Force
In one instance, the company had housed a maximum of more than 600 employees in Qatar, with a minimum of approx. 250 skilled and unskilled workers, the effective number of employees being varied depending on the workload. In order to retain flexibility, the company is rotating its qualified and skilled workers at the work sites. The company has equally developed a reliable reservoir of seconded labor in Doha in order to meet short-term peaks of demand. From the 51 years of experience, we are preparing our workers in our in-house training facilities under the guidance of our well versed and skilled trainers, who teaches the workers on all amenities the effective procedures and good working practice to achieve the efficiency and productivity methods of works and also develop competence in dispensing duties while project construction is ongoing to support execution of Quality procedures at the work sites as we believe that our workers are indispensable factor of production. We believe that Labour force is the fundamental and active factor of production and has important contribution to boost employee’s performance and increase productivity.
The Management ensures that all our employees respect the human and labor rights and provide a decent, clean and safe and healthy working conditions and accommodation and promote the health and well-being as part of the management practices. We have built a safe environmental indoor & outdoor recreations centers in our Camp to give pleasure and delight to our workers to actively participate in several sports activities outside the traditional working hours.
All our workers are given health benefits and provide aid to workers who get injured or sick at the work place and accommodation as per the Qatari Labour Laws.
More frequently we are holding workshops to discuss the policies, safety measures and guidelines to ensure diversity in all its forms, non-discrimination between different groups, and to ensure the integration of all workers associated with in the decision-making process. These workshops are organized by our Safety Engineers at our work places.

CEC has completed almost 500 major projects during this period and our all engineers well experienced and our engineers and specialists having the similar experience in our previous projects. The Project Manager (Contractor Representative) is in-charge of the project and is authorized to act on behalf of the CEC on all matters under the contract.
